Happy Employees Are Engaged & Productive

Poor Workplace Wellbeing Affects Productivity?

Stress can be defined as the way you FEEL when you are under abnormal strain, demands and pressure.

All sorts of situations can cause stress. The most common involve work, money matters and relationships with partners, children or other family members .Stress maybe caused either by MAJOR upheavals and life events such a divorce, unemployment, moving house and bereavement…………….. • or by a series of minor irritations such as feeling undervalued at work or dealing with difficult children. Sometimes there are no obvious causes.

Virtually all Irish employers in a recent survey by Ibec rated workplace wellbeing as important, yet only one in five have done anything formal in their workplace to facilitate it.

Mental health condi tions lead to increased absenteeism and presenteeism, and thereby present substantial potential losses to organisations. A report conducted by The Mental Health Commission calculated the annual cost of un managed mental health in Ireland at €3billion.(Condon,D.2015).

Workplace Benefits of Mindfulness

Mindfulness is about knowing what is on your mind.

Mindfulness based interventions improve mental and physical health.

Mindfulness is a form of mental training intended to enhance awareness and the ability to disengage from maladaptive patterns of mind that make one vulnerable to stress responses.

Training in mindfulness attempts to increase awareness of thoughts, emotions, and maladaptive ways of responding to stress, thereby helping participants learn to cope with stress in healthier, more effective ways.
